In The Heights, the Tony Award®-winning musical sensation by Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton) is bringing the heat and heart to Melbourne’sComedy Theatre but only until September 6. The show will then transfer to HOTA in the Gold Coast from September 12.
Experience the debut musical from mastermind Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton) - a vibrant and exhilarating production set in New York’s Washington Heights.
In The Heights tells the story of a tight-knit community on the cusp of significant change. Full of hopes and aspirations, some are about to embark on an incredible journey of love and ambition while others are faced with some of the biggest challenges of their lives, including what it means to be “home”.
Following its acclaimed runs on Broadway, at the Hayes Theatre, and the Sydney Opera House, this vibrant celebration of community, culture, and the pursuit of dreams blends hip hop, salsa, and Latin rhythms into an infectious musical theatre score that has captivated audiences worldwide.
Bringing this production to life is a standout cast, led by Ryan Gonzalez (Moulin Rouge! The Musical) as Usnavi, Olivia Vásquez (West Side Story) as Vanessa, Mariah Gonzalez as Nina Rosario, Ngali Shaw as Benny and Richard Valdez as Piragua Guy.
Under the direction of Luke Joslin, with dynamic choreography by Amy Campbell, both Helpmann Award nominees for this production, In The Heights delivers an unforgettable theatrical experience that pulses with energy, passion, and heart.
With its high-energy dance numbers, soulful storytelling, and unforgettable music, In The Heights is a must-see theatrical event.
